Among the wineries that in more recent times have contributed to enhancing the image of Super Tuscans in the world, we cannot fail to mention Tenuta di Trinoro, an iconic and prestigious name, synonymous with elegance and quality. Driven by his far-sighted and visionary spirit, after acquiring the property in the 1980s, the oenologist Andrea Franchetti founded Tenuta di Trinoro in 1995 in Sarteano, in the Val d'Orcia, a territory in south-eastern Tuscany that until then had been almost all unrelated to viticulture. Through dedication, research and experimentation, Andrea Franchetti thus gave life to a true Tuscan wine jewel.

Tenuta di Trinoro extends over 23 hectares of vineyards, rooted in clay-limestone soils rich in gravel and reserved exclusively for the international black grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. An exception is a small Sémillon vineyard from which the Bianco 'Trinoro' is obtained. The planting of the rows was carried out on the Bordeaux model, with high planting densities and the use of cuttings from Pomerol.

The oenology set up by Andrea Franchetti involves accurate and precise processing, with aging taking place only in concrete tanks and French oak barriques.
The selection of Tenuta di Trinoro is striking for the extraordinary elegance and complexity of its red wines from international grapes. The pride of the selection is the 'Tenuta di Trinoro', an elegant, broad and concentrated interpretation capable of combining the varietal qualities of the Bordeaux grapes with the unmistakable character of the Tuscan territory.
