The Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs “Comtes de Champagne” well represents the style and spirit of Taittinger in the name of refined elegance and is part of the small elite of the most prestigious bottles, reserved for special moments. It is a glass of extraordinary finesse, elegance and aromatic complexity, a luminous symbol of the best expression of Chardonnay and the extraordinary terroir of the Côte des Blancs. Chardonnay has always played a leading role in the cuvées of the Maison de Reims, which manages vineyards in the best areas of the region: Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, Vallé de la Marne and in the Aube.

It is a Blanc de Blancs of particular value, which is produced only in the best vintages, capable of expressing excellent quality of the grapes. Precisely because of its nobility characteristics, it is still processed today in the historic cellars of the Saint-Nicaise Abbey in Reims. The Chardonnay used to create the cuvée comes from vineyards grown in the most famous crus of the Côte des Blancs. The soft pressing of the grapes guarantees the use of only the free-run must and 5% of the base wines are aged for 4 months in new oak barriques, to give richness and complexity to the final blend. After the second fermentation, the bottles rest in the old cellars of the Maison dug out of the chalk. A particularly long refinement period, which gives the Chardonnay an extraordinary maturity and a wide palette of aromas and aromas.

“Comtes de Champagne” appears in the glass with a brilliant light straw yellow color. The perlage is of great finesse, light and continuous. The bouquet is complex and articulated. It announces itself with fresh citrus notes and then opens up to aromas of ripe fruit, pastries, dehydrated fruit and raisins. The sip is lively and harmonious with rich and persistent fruit, which extends towards a slightly spicy finish, with a touch of liquorice root.
