The Barolo Riserva “Granbussia” of Poderi Aldo Conterno is one of the great excellences of Monforte d'Alba, which comes from a selection of old vineyards of the prestigious Bussia cru. A label that leaves the cellar only nine years after the harvest and which offers an out of the ordinary tasting experience. The bouquet is elegant, complex, rich and refined. On the palate it has notable structure, multifaceted aromatic depth and great persistence. A Barolo to be tasted on special occasions and by true connoisseurs of the great wines of the Langhe.

The “Granbussia” wine from Poderi Aldo Conterno is a Barolo Riserva which represents the crown jewel of the estate. The splendid vineyard heritage of Monforte d'Alba is managed without the use of chemical fertilizers or herbicides and the Conterno winery has always worked in the wake of tradition, offering uncompromising wines, a pure expression of the history of the territory. The Nebbiolo grapes of the Michet and Lampia varieties come from Vigna Romirasco (70%), Vigna Cicala (15%), Vigna Colonnello (15%), which are located in the territory of the famous Bussia Additional Geographical Mention. After a selection of the grapes in the vineyard, the best bunches are sent for vinification with fermentation on the skins lasting about a month, with temperatures below 32°C and use of only indigenous yeasts. The wine matures in large 35 hectoliter oak barrels for 33 months and completes the long refinement period with 5 years in the bottle before being put on sale.

Barolo “Granbussia” Riserva is the traditional wine of Poderi Aldo Conterno. In addition to the labels dedicated to the individual vineyards, which tend to enhance the differences of the various parcels vinified separately, with "Granbussia" we instead want to propose a terroir wine, which takes into account the best characteristics of the various vineyards of the Bussia cru in their harmonious and overall union. The color is intense ruby red with garnet reflections. The olfactory profile is of great finesse, with aromas of dried flowers, small dark berries, hints of undergrowth, leather, cocoa and spices. On the palate it has good body, with a dense and evolved tannic texture perfectly integrated and fused with an elegant fruit, embellished with subtle tertiary notes. The finish is fresh and very persistent.
