Krug Vintage 2008

Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug in Reims, Maison Krug has always pursued a singular vision: to create the most generous expression of Champagne every year, beyond vintage variations. Today, it remains one of the most prestigious Champagne houses, still guided by the philosophy of individuality and meticulous craftsmanship. The Krug Vintage cuvée is not intended to be the “best Champagne of a given year,” but rather the expression of the year itself, interpreted by the Cellar Master and blending team.

Krug Vintage represents the unique expression of a single year, captured through the vision of the Maison. Each vintage is crafted only in exceptional harvests and reflects the character of that specific year in Champagne. The Krug 2008, often referred to as “Classic Beauty,” is one of the most highly regarded vintages of the 21st century. It embodies remarkable tension, elegance, and precision, while staying true to the bold and layered Krug style.

This Champagne was composed from a meticulous selection of the year’s best plots: Pinot Noir (53%), Chardonnay (25%), and Pinot Meunier (22%). After its second fermentation, the wine was aged for over 12 years in Krug’s cellars, developing its signature depth and complexity before release.

Tasting Profile

• Appearance: Brilliant golden color with fine, persistent bubbles.

• Nose: Aromas of citrus, white flowers, hazelnuts, brioche, and subtle spices.

• Palate: Pure and precise, offering layers of citrus, quince, honey, and dried fruit, all carried by vibrant acidity. The finish is long, mineral, and refined, with great aging potential.
