Jean-François Coquard is a thirteenth-generation winemaker from the Pierres Dorées area of Beaujolais. After earning a Master's degree in Oenology from the University of Dijon and gaining experience at the Hospices de Beaune, Coquard spent 15 years in Lombardy, Italy, as head winemaker at Tenuta Mazzolino. There, he produced award-winning wines, including Pinot Noir that received the Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri award five consecutive years. In 2017, he returned to France to establish JFC Vins in Chessy, southern Beaujolais, focusing on wines that reflect both French elegance and Italian creativity.
The Crémant De Bourgogne is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from clay-limestone soils in southern Burgundy. Harvested manually in early September, the grapes undergo traditional "pressurage champenois" and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages on lees for 12 to 15 months, developing fine bubbles and complex flavors. In the glass, it presents a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. The bouquet is fresh and clean, featuring notes of pear, white flowers, and citrus fruits. On the palate, it offers a crisp and fresh taste with a delicate texture, pleasant creaminess, and a salty finish.
