Giulio Ferrari - Riserva del Fondatore 1980

A winery that needs no introduction, whose legend was born thanks to the vision of one man, Giulio Ferrari, and his dream of creating a wine in Trentino that could stand alongside the finest French Champagnes. A true pioneer, Giulio Ferrari was the first to recognize the extraordinary potential of his land and to introduce Chardonnay to Italy. With an obsessive dedication to quality, he began producing a limited number of meticulously selected bottles.

These wines quickly captured the hearts of the most discerning enthusiasts, who had never before found such elegant, refined, and surprising sparkling wines in Italy. However, without heirs, Giulio Ferrari sought a successor to whom he could entrust his dream.

Among the many contenders, he chose Bruno Lunelli, the owner of a renowned wine shop in Trento. Thanks to his passion and entrepreneurial talent, Bruno quickly managed, by the early 1950s, to increase production while never compromising on quality, staying true to the path set by the founder. The tradition continued as Bruno Lunelli passed down his passion to his sons. Under the leadership of Franco, Gino, and Mauro, Ferrari became the leader in Italy and the ultimate symbol of the Italian toast.

Today, more than a century later, Ferrari is synonymous with the finest Italian sparkling wines. With a vineyard area of around 120 hectares and an annual production nearing 4.5 million bottles, these wines stand as true tributes to the greatness of an unrivaled winery and a region, Trento, hat has proven capable of producing some of the finest sparkling wines in the world.

During these years, some of the labels destined to make history were born: Ferrari Rosé, Ferrari Brut Perlé, and Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore.
