Barbaresco Gaja is a fine Italian wine among the most recognized in the world, it is an Italian red with great class and personality, produced by one of the most historic and prestigious wineries on the Italian scene, the Gaja winery, led by the legendary Angelo Gaja. Like all Gaja wines, the label alone makes it recognizable throughout the world, the minimal style of the bottle graphics is the company's trademark.
Barbaresco Gaja comes from a blend of Nebbiolo grapes coming from 14 different vineyards owned by the company located in the municipality of Barbaresco, at altitudes between 250 and 330 meters above sea level.
The particularly low yields, the selection of the bunches and the manual harvesting are among the main factors for the success of Gaja wines, the careful winemaking and aging procedure do the rest. This fine wine is fermented in steel vats before aging for 6 months in barrique and another 18 in large barrels.
Barbaresco is presented in a ruby-coloured glass with light orange reflections, the nose is broad and varied, we find notes of dried violet, licorice, red fruit jam, dog rose, tobacco, leather, cocoa and cloves as well as sweet spices like vanilla and cinnamon. In the mouth it is soft and velvety wine, with tannins perfectly integrated into the body of the wine. The finish is very long, a wine that seems to never end.
