Founded in 1964 in Torano Nuovo, in the heart of Abruzzo, Emidio Pepe is one of Italy’s most iconic wineries, renowned worldwide for its uncompromising commitment to tradition and authenticity. From the very beginning, Emidio Pepe believed in the extraordinary potential of Montepulciano and Trebbiano grapes, cultivating them biodynamically long before it became a trend. Today, the winery is still family-run, with the same meticulous, artisanal approach: hand-harvested grapes, spontaneous fermentations, no chemical interventions, and an extraordinary focus on long aging potential.

The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is the true flagship of the estate. A deep, powerful, and long-lived red wine, it showcases all the character of Abruzzo’s terroir. In its youth, it offers vibrant dark fruit, notes of blackberry, plum, and spice, wrapped in firm tannins and refreshing acidity. With age, it develops extraordinary complexity, revealing layers of leather, earth, licorice, and dried flowers, while maintaining remarkable energy and elegance.
