Chateau Lafleur - Chateau Lafleur 1998

4.5 hectares of vineyard grouped in a single body, a few hundred meters away from Château Petrus and located east of Pomerol.

Divided, among the varieties planted, between 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc, Château Lafleur has been managed for over a century by the Guinaudeau family, who initially rented the company, before taking it over as sole owner in 2002.

Among the rows have an average age of forty years and, with respect for the environment, the care is obsessive and addressed plant by plant. From here the approximately 12 thousand bottles per year are born, which today are marketed directly by the property, without going through the speculation of retailers. Monumental wines that are born severe and austere, at times angular and hard, and begin to express themselves only from the first decade following the harvest, and then proceed towards a relentless crescendo which, as the years pass, pushes the Château Lafleur labels straight straight into the Olympus of the world's great wines. Unique bottles, characterized by a style resulting from history and prestigious terroir, not common to any other winemaking reality and which only Château Lafleur can boast.
