Chateau Margaux - Chateau Margaux 1991 1er Grand Cru Classé
SKU:
Chateau Margaux is one of the most iconic wines in the world. The chateau is famous for the incredible complexity and aromatic refinement of its wines, which have few equals in the world, and for the elegance of its structure. The 82 hectares of vineyards are almost the same as the chateau had in 1855, when it was classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé.
Three-quarters of the vineyards are located on a deep gravel terroir, very poor and perfect for the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon, with the remainder on clay and limestone soils covered by a thin layer of gravel.
The heart of the chateau is the Puch Sea Peyre vineyard, a 20-hectare clos that was already famous for the quality of its wines 500 years ago. Since 2012 Chateau Margaux has increased the percentage of vineyards in organic and biodynamic agriculture and the vineyards are planted with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
Soft and overwhelming: this is often defined as the sensation you get when you savor a glass of this wine, with an aftertaste that is as floral and intense as it is harmonious and structured. Each bottle has its own peculiarities, in fact Chateau Margaux is considered one of the best wines in the world.
