Benoît Lahaye is a family-run grower based in Bouzy Grand Cru (Montagne de Reims), with roots dating back to 1898. The estate spans around 5 hectares, planted predominantly with Pinot Noir across Bouzy, Ambonnay and Tauxières.
Since taking over in 1993, Benoît Lahaye has progressively converted the domaine to organic (since 2003) and biodynamic farming (since 2009), working soils with horse ploughing and natural preparations.
Vinifications are carried out mainly in oak barrels, with long ageing on lees and very low or zero dosage, aiming for pure, terroir-driven Champagnes with strong identity and mineral expression.
A precise and elegant vintage Champagne expressing the balance of the 2014 harvest. The dominance of Pinot Noir from Bouzy brings depth and structure, while Chardonnay adds lift and finesse. Long ageing on lees enhances complexity, revealing notes of candied citrus, hazelnut, dried flowers and chalk. The palate is both concentrated and transparent, with a vibrant mineral backbone and excellent ageing potential.
