Antinori - Tignanello 2000

The Tignanello is one of the great Italian Supertuscans, produced since the 1970s by the Marchesi Antinori after long winemaking experiments, with the aim of obtaining grapes with greater concentration and softer tannins. Thus was born a Sangiovese aged in barrique and blended with international varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Tignanello was one of the first Italian Bordeaux blended wines, a precursor of the great Tuscan red wines.

The Tignanello Antinori comes from the best vineyards of the estate of the same name, in the heart of the Chianti Classico, where the sixteenth-century Villa Antinori stands, not far from Florence. It is a great expression of the territory of origin, which comes from a soft pressing of the grapes, first fermentation in steel tanks and malolactic in barriques, where the refinement also takes place. It is the first red wine from the Chianti area to be aged in barrique as well as one of the first not to be blended with white grapes but rather with international vineyards.

Tignanello wine is one of the most appreciated Italian wines in the world, it presents itself in the glass of an intense ruby ​​red, almost regal, on the nose it is complex with notes ranging from red fruits to tobacco, from leather to vanilla, with a light hint of chocolate with red rose petals. In the mouth it is very balanced between dense tannins and a beautiful freshness, a long and very persistent finish.
The Tignanello di Antinori is produced only in the best years and is a wine with great longevity, it can easily be enjoyed after decades.
